C47LAB has designed and developed a Flight Termination System (FTS) for RPAS. The FTS consists of both an air and a ground segment (FTS-Air and FTS-Ground). The FTS-Air is the onboard component responsible for restoring the RPAS to a stable flight attitude and for monitoring the FMS status via its own dedicated datalink. Commands are issued by the FTS-Ground unit, which operates independently from the RPAS Ground Control Station (GCS)
The FTS enhances RPAS operational safety and reliability through an independent datalink network, allowing the GCS to track the RPAS even in the event of FMS failure. Furthermore, communications between FTS-Ground and FTS-Air are encrypted to prevent unintended activation due to electromagnetic interference
